Equinox - The day when light and dark stand as equals... An opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the light around us as we move into the season ahead.
In collaboration with MAAP, we are hosting their Equinox Experience - 12 hours and 365km of chasing the light.

RIDE DETAILS:
Date - Saturday September 21, 2024
Start time - 06:00 AM meet-up, 06:30 AM departure
Start location - Standert Bicycles, Friedrichstr. 23a, Berlin 10969
End location - Standert Bicycles, Friedrichstr. 23a, Berlin 10969
Route details/description - 365KM, 1515M, 12 Hours
Drink/Food details - Coffee at the showroom to start.
Fueling stops - Km 97, Km 180, Km 282 @Netto
RULES:
1. Attendees must know the rules of road cycling in a group.
2. The route is on open roads so traffic laws must be strictly adhered to.
3. Fully functioning road bike with two brakes and helmet are mandatory.
4. Everyone is riding at their own risk, and takes responsibility for themselves and
their equipment.
5. Have the route saved on your device or GPS.
***MAAP INFO: IMPORTANT DETAILS PLEASE READ ***
1. You are responsible for your own nutrition and hydration across the ride. We will ride at tempo pace (35-40kmph+) with an average pace for the whole ride of 33kmph+ so you will need 60-80g+ carbs per hour. Of course we will make a couple stops along the way to refuel.
2. Bring lights suitable for riding in the dark.
3. You are also responsible for your own mechanical support – bring tubes and/or CO2 cartridges.
4. We strongly encourage you to consider your fitness level. If you’re on the fence, we recommend you ask a more experienced friend if this ride is a good step-up ride for your continued development.
5. If you’re unsure about your fitness level, out of an abundance of caution, we recommend you hold on to this ride and be on the lookout for future MAAP-supported rides.
6. We will end at the Standert Hub and drink some beers & eat pizza!

To celebrate the Equinox we will ride 365km in a circle around Berlin. Classic Rund um Berlin style that you all know and love, just a bit bigger. 365 days of the year, 365km, 360 degrees around Berlin! We will take in all the most iconic ride locations from around the city and enjoy the wonderful scenery of Brandenburg.
The Standert ‘Train’ will set off from the showroom, and you are invited to jump on and off the train at any point. We will send a tracking link so you can follow one of the ride leaders and find the best point to jump on. You are welcome to join for a part of or the whole ride, depending on the time you have and your fitness.
This is not ‘not a drop ride’. The train will keep going at the set pace, to make sure we make it back in time. But it will be steady, there will be no attacking, etc. If it’s too fast or you cannot follow anymore, we cannot not slow down. But the advantage of riding around Berlin in a circle is that you can get home from any point. That said, of course, if a member of the group has a puncture, etc., we will stop and wait.
